Now here, I started putting in highlights around the parts of his body where it'd protrude the most, i.e. where the curves are most outward. It's just my instinct/personal preference. Shown is the layers involved in this. There's a lot of opacity adjustment and blending here!
@chainchomped_ Mostly not!Except for bg, all my layers are of varying opacity because my brushes' opacity depend on pressure, including base colors, so I wouldn't really have anything to clip to. By the time I start blending, I have merged all layers into one! I like how organic it feels too
I use different colors from the base colors to bring out the hair and then add the darker color of the base.
Then on a different layer I use a yellow color and bring down the opacity.
I don't know if I explained it well.
DAY 6: BAGPIPE (I had to lower the opacity of the bg because of the sketch colour so y'all could see it)
Guess who's still figuring out what the word shading means! Instead of my normal tedious color pick each shade perfectly, I used a dark red/blue/purple for each person and dropped the opacity and while it was faster I don't think it worked as well so here we are #onepiece
i use a purple shade and just. swoop over the top portion of the eyes and then erase the excess. im sure theres an easier way to do that but im dumb. change the opacity as needed

also lmao sheer fabric isnt as hard as it seems. i just set my normal coloring pen to whatever opacity i want and then layer on top of it for folds/overlap

So, This is how i do the '' hair looks transparent '' thing. just make sure you play with the opacity of the top hair layer and u good to go. I know this is simple to some but when i started i didn't know and i wish i did. if you have any question don't be shy.

Nah ini warnanya bisa nyesuaiin mau dibikin dingin pake shade biru atau panas pake shade merah (warna lain juga oke sesuai selera aja). Pastikan pakai warna saturasi tinggi biar keliatan efeknya.
Aku biasanya langsung pakai lock opacity / preserve opacity buat warnain lineart
@kiiboloid I normally do three but I also use this cool grid brush and lower the opacity to go along with the brush
