Maps you see in fantasy are made by someone in-game or out-of-game, whether its handwaived off as the creators telling you "here's the world, this way is North" or by someone in-world who goes around drawing the often but sometimes not meticulous details of scale.

Mid-game screens show some of the Black Unicorn antagonists, but also a big cute dino king boss.

Wind's Seed seems to use a low-res video mode in its game frame, or at least a larger pixel scale. It doesn't run that well despite this. I wonder how unoptimized the game's code is.
