My quick interpretation of based first impressions on a new paper that was published today on their beak morphology. Interestingly the beak appears to consist of unfused left and right sides.

One of my favourite folktales is 'The Mermaid of Zennor'. It's a Cornish tale which tells about a mermaid who falls in love with Mathey Trewella, the best singer of the parish. The couple disappears and are never seen on land again.
