Took some time to get started on a couple of refs for myself. The green guy was originally designed by SleepyKyju. I made a couple of minor edits (changing the hue a bit and adding some gradients) Orange lady is my own old ass design.
I’m pretty happy with how these turned out!

YEAH !! I used the normal dip pen w/ hard tip, the blur tool, and my stabilizer was on 10 along with force fade with a hard tip. I also used the eraser on a big scale with a low opacity to get little gradients

i used to do a lot more stuff with gradients & textures but i more or less abandoned all that in favour of lines and flat colours recently. I still like these old pieces a lot. jesus 2013 feels like a lifetime ago already

Another god-like artist when it comes to details to clothing AND background. I love how you can't box their coloring to cel or soft because for me it looks like she uses textures, gradients and patterns as 'shading' which is really cool <3 (1/2)

For day 269 :) of I did the gradients I was talking about yesterday, some more shading, and I changed some of the colours on the hood to be less saturated and more blue-shifted. I'm gonna work on the eyes tomorrow since they have a lot of detail and reflection.
