Q1: All my characters have a complex story and motivations, but usually I start combining some traits, and then let the story flow. This comes out handy when I have to make specific kinds of art, like these tarot cards with their title representing a trait.

I'm trying to simplify my colouring process lately, by not focusing on shading/highlighting everything to the last detail. I'm letting the colours speak for themselves and shading in bigger chunks, which I'm finding easier on the eyes.
