Just compare the line thickness of the left one to the right one.

One has clear outlines, one very thin lines all over the place. This makes it very difficult to parse visually. The fact that the background pops as much as the foreground doesn't help either.

Recently on the Pixel Art Cafe I've been messing with double pixel outlines and I think this is going to be my standard now. My next game: probably double outline.

This is an African Bush Viper I drew for practice. As in I traced the outlines and scales and then shaded everything with the reference. It was basically just to help me understand lighting more lol, therefore the tracing.
