Making a little more progress with Blender, just using booleans. It can't be stated how much I really miss shift+drag edge extrusion from 3ds Max though. I don't know why more software doesn't use this, it's such a convenient way of modelling. Instant creation of new geometry.

Been looking at the WoW pets. Some of my biggest issues are:
Textures are overloaded, cluttering things up, sometimes making faces creepy/off (kitten face).
Silhouette/masses broken by unnecessary protrusions. Goofy big feet doesn't help there either.
