Unless I get an actual proof that this might be the case, whether it's Horikoshi mentioning Reborn or anything to that extent, I would no longer count this as a myth.

So any help is appreciated!

I HAD to color this!

What an amazing cover by Horikoshi Sensei!

Horikoshi has trivia for the BNHA Christmas episode. He writes:

Anime today. For the Xmas scene, I actually requested lyrics from “All I Want for Christmas is You,” but due to scheduling issues we couldn’t get it in time + ended up using “Lalala” instead. Some nostalgic trivia.

If we are talking about Shigaraki, his biggest inspirations are definitely these guys but especially Tenko (and this is Horikoshi's first one-shot so it should be obvious how dear Shigaraki is to Horikoshi).

Been loving what Horikoshi has been doing with Deku in the manga lately. Wanted to do this quick sketch before heading to bed.

So I drew this beautiful Deku with Horikoshi's drawing as a reference. He's always been a huge inspiration for me, specially now that I feel more confident with my style
