Remembrance Day, November 11
Standing here in poppy fields
Wasted life, what sacrifice
Laying still in a field of red
Stolen life, what sacrifice
Poppy.

For #huevember 9! Trying to do some, but my back injury still flared up so I won't be able to do it everyday haha. I felt Poppies for the red hue in the month of November would be a good choice for remembrance day ❤️🙏
Done on @procreate
In assembly today, we read the beautifully written 'Where the Poppies Now Grow' by @HilsRobinson.Here in the Pre-Prep, we have our own ceramic poppy field, representing the twenty eight people connected to Hazlegrove, who tragically died in War #HazlegrovePrePrep #Remembrance
Swords into ploughshares' by Derbyshire artist @Hallowedart.
And they shall beat their
swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning
hooks; nation shall not lift up
sword against nation, neither shall they learn war
anymore. (Isaiah 2:4)

#RemembranceDay, don't forget the fight and sacrifices made by those to make sure we do not have to fight. And if we did, that we knew that it was gonna be on the right side of justice and for all things good and right. They gave much and their efforts were not in vain.
”When the War is over and the sword at last we sheathe,
I'm going to keep a jelly-fish and listen to it breathe.
When the War is over and we've finished up the show,
I'm going to plant a lemon-pip and listen to it grow." ~A.A.Milne #peace #RemembranceSunday #RemembranceDay

Oh stranger, tell the Lacedaimones, that here we lie, obedient to their orders (our Law).
I felt quite emotional during the Remembrance Day silence this morning. Standing still with your own thoughts for two minutes allows time to contemplate the enormity of sacrifices made, and still being made to keep us safe, and everyone we have lost.
