Friends that are lost
Are waiting to be found
At parties in the memory
There you will feel the warmth
The joy they always brought
Together eternally

Today is when we remember the fallen of conflict from to the present day. Among them Eric Ravilious, War Artist who was killed on active service in 1942, leaving behind a widow, Tirzah, & a young family. His work & legacy continues to inspire to this day.

Today we honour those who have made the greatest sacrifice. Honoring our heroes who served to hold our flag high. Let us gather together in celebration of those who have fallen.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

It's but it can be hard for children to understand the impact of conflict.

Stories can help them to walk in someone else's shoes, so we've put together a list of titles about World War I to check out: https://t.co/OMPr7Jb91V

Nostaglia: Did you know Stonehenge had a WW1 aerodrome? The idea that a working military airfield could have been sited so close to Stonehenge seems extraordinary now. https://t.co/vmDnaHJRzY

Swords into ploughshares' by Derbyshire artist .

And they shall beat their
swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning
hooks; nation shall not lift up
sword against nation, neither shall they learn war
anymore. (Isaiah 2:4)

”When the War is over and the sword at last we sheathe,
I'm going to keep a jelly-fish and listen to it breathe.
When the War is over and we've finished up the show,
I'm going to plant a lemon-pip and listen to it grow." ~A.A.Milne
