Hello, my name is Gina and I’m an illustrator and designer based in Texas. I do editorial art, kidlit art and dabble in art about mental health and sexuality! I love shapes, color blocks and lots of textures.

I think something that would help you a lot with your clouds is to start with big brushes painting big shapes, and then slowly moving to smaller brushes with small shapes. Also varied textures would really make your paintings pop! Here's an example I made real quick.

So here are some notes, that I keep in mind as im working in the piece. Number one is main focus and than I try to see where I want the eye to travel using shapes, light and contrast.

Did the challenge!
Asked my insta followers what they consider my style and I was told bright warm colors, angular shapes, and textured linework. Tried to do a piece with that in mind (left) and one doing the opposite (right)
dont know how well i did lmao

Made this "style adjustement" to make my OC way easier to animate! Now with specific scaling and shapes, this ball of joy and thiccnes :)))

Watching Bee and Puppycat, and wanted to try my hand at the style. Unfotunately, it's everything I'm not comfortable with drawing- simple shapes, rounded edges, flat colors, pastels. But it's so fucking charming and cute that I had to try! So have a space!Nerr.

Failing is the new winniiiing 🎶...I usually don’t show this, but I do some vfx to make a sense of a skin. I feel...I’m not too sharp/graphic with my shapes, but wellp practice.

My brain wanted to draw something with shapes, so I drew something with shapes.

Thank you...half asleep brain.

Working on new art to try and find an art style I like when it’s not pattern related. I’ve always loved bold shapes, color blocks and layer transparencies. https://t.co/bK2kOlGITM

thinkin about flying & missing it a lot rn, but sketching planes is cheaper so :')

ps: if you have trouble drawing vehicles bc of weird shapes, I use this method of sketching the inner shapes of the frame. My favorite airplanes to sketch are bread shaped vuv
