Sick design you got there! Hope this running rendition makes it justice. Also, I use MS Paint but soon will get Aseprite. And the proportions are quite easy when you use other stuff as base, like these Mega Man sprites. Other than that is just like regular art.

You know what games you should play? The Hamtaro Game Boy games (the DS ones are kinda meh). They are great little puzzle adventure games where you learn their language and it has super cute pixel art and amazing sprites.
