Would you believe me if I said all of this was ink?

I found some Japanese Kuretake ink made with this water-soluble dye, a few years back, and discovered it bled like velvet when water was applied. I've been refining the technique ever since... it's a form of inkwash.

Spent all day on some commission work. Worked out a detailed sketch for the design of one character and then worked on refining my realistic render techniques. I think i figured out a solid approach to this. So hopefully i can start making more of these faster
