I've finally started finding what works to enable my ability to play Joy-cons for exploration/general play, and a pro-controller for boss fights. I would still be playing now if using the controller forces me to play using my peripheral vision. Not ideal but works.

my controller is being really annoying and stops working like every 30 minutes. enough to play a little bit, but then stops me from playing for hours just when i get in the zone.
