I love how reminds me of a kid-friendly, tech-ver. of 1 and Shin. I appreciate that Reiwa's 1st Rider stayed to a grasshopper theme for all of his major form upgrades. The design also looks great in motion & works great with color separation for toys.

YW! A different thing I used to do was basically the way I do digital paintings now but with more work LOL, by separating the "lines" (the ink) from the bg, and painting under as well as overlays on top. This is three inkwash paintings compiled together - foreground, middle & bg.

You can accomplish some decent animation simply by separating several parts and translating them around. Some of the longer feathers on her wings have very subtle edits but even then it's mostly just sections of pixels nudged over.
