Depends on both the sprite style and my own mood! Sometimes I'll have to do a loose sketch first just to know what I'm pixeling, and then I'll continue with the actual sprite on my Cintiq. But if I'm doing really small sprites or tile-based stuff, I'll often just go full-mouse.

We've just accomplished our biggest achievement, getting the actual logo to Nessy The NES Robot IN the title screen! It wasn't as easy as copy & paste, as we had to make a lot of compromises with tile duplication to get it working properly.
