Bonus because I missed last week, which was themed around April ‘foolers’. The pygmy seahorse blends in almost perfectly with the fan coral onto which it clings.

Belated of a prickly sculpin (Cottus asper). They fool many with their impressive camouflage! I have encountered several in northern CA, sometimes pretending to be juvenile salmon.

juvenile frogfish aka ''doritos'' look alike ;)

My for this week's bones theme is the Glass catfish.

These little fish have transparent bodies, with their skeletons on full display! As a result they're a popular addition to community tanks in the ornamental industry. https://t.co/ZSVJzx0qBu

A late submission with this playful Australian lungfish!

An old (over 200 years) Greenland shark. They are not especially ancient, in relative shark terms, but these sharks may live a very long time, perhaps up to 400 years or more. Their slow and very cold lifestyle may enable a lengthy lifespan.

An Australian Lungfish for this week's theme of "fish unaffected by time". Fossil remains identical to this species have been found in New South Wales dating back to over 100 mya. Lungfish as a group have been present in the fossil record since the Triassic.
