Artbook of Phoenix (HI no Tori). Selected illustrations from Osamu Tezuka's unfinished manga series (1967-1988).
Does Tezuka's 鳥人大系 Birdman Anthology count as speculative zoology ?

hhhhhhhhhhhhh I did so much better this time around than when I tiered for Tezuka's event as a newbie 😭😭😭😭😭
For reference. Mitsuteru Yokoyama's Tetsujin-28 debuted in 1956, and we mostly know it for being the first giant robot piloted by a remote control in japanese fiction. Tezuka's Astro Boy debuted in 1952, but it wasn't a giant robot tho. And then we had 1972 Nagai's Mazinger Z.
Dororo and Hyakkimaru (Dororo to Hyakkimaru-den) - Monthly Champion RED (2018 - ongoing).
Remake of Osamu Tezuka's #Dororo drawn by Satoshi Shiki (Attack on Titan
- Before the Fall). It offers a closer retelling of the original source material compared to it's anime adaptation.
What I love best about modern anime adaptations like Dororo is how (for better or worse) Osamu Tezuka's character designs get translated.
To celebrate Osamu Tezuka's 90th birthday, @DanicaDavidson spoke with Frederik L. Schodt, Jared Cook, and a bunch of publishers who have helped to bring the God of Manga's work out in English https://t.co/T9otjIrhO8
IDK how many of u watch anime, but do any of u know of Kimba the White Lion? It's an old anime based on Tezuka's Jungle Emperor manga & many don't know it exists. It's a cult classic in my family & my mother used to run home from school to watch it. It's now really rare to find.
@_ibcf_ The O.G anime eyes come from Osamu Tezuka's obsession with Bambi. "Schodt narrates his growth as a prolific young storyteller inspired by Disney films like “Bambi” (Tezuka watched it over 80 times). https://t.co/39yh3xBYJv

Osamu Tezuka's "Flying Ben" fan art. Never read the book, I just found the style cute and charming.

J-450n awakens. I'm reminded of Tima in osamu tezuka's Metropolis (2001); a poignant story about an innocent robot who awakens and believes herself to be a human girl, but is actually a weapon of destruction. #scifisat #scifiart #webcomic #comics #bornsexytomorrow
Catch the European Premiere of the restored print of OSAMU TEZUKA's unseen #anime A THOUSAND & ONE NIGHTS on April 28th @EastEndFilmFest @thecastlecinema
1001 Nights was the first film in the ANIMERAMA trilogy of which BELLADONNA OF SADNESS was the final!

@Loakers Always loved how much Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis (2001) was inspired by the original film and its design, the incredible background art makes no attempt to hide it
