"Now, man of the croziers, shadows called our names
And then away, away, like whirling flames;
And now fled by, mist-covered, without sound,
The youth and lady and the deer and hound."
The Wanderings of Oisin, by W.B. Yeats, 1889

"Come away, O human child!
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping than you can understand."

For he comes, the human child,
To the waters and the wild
With a faery, hand in hand,
For the world's more full of weeping
than he can understand.

Being ‘Fairy led’ was not always pleasant, it could mean a fugue state where people would sometimes pine away to nothing...
My mother often described me as being ‘away with the fairies’ and meant a more benign state of dreaming though.
