@baalbuddy " Aye. Never met a Paladin such as he, Richard Dickens. Never seen a man with such a Hardened Phallus, he did not just fooked them Goblin women but he, for the love of God! He didn't spare the Female Dragon with his mighty Lusty "Sword". You lot never seen such a Horny sight."
Late to this, but I absolutely adored “Ghostcloud” by @mikebmann .
This is a brilliant debut. Fantastically realised characters, a great plot, a truly mean villain and a marvellous dystopian London setting. It would be a perfect Y6 read hints of Dickens with a touch of Gaiman.

We love this tropical beach scene, beautifully illustrated by Joanna Kerr for the cover of The Holiday Bookshop, written by Lucy Dickens.

George Cattermole, 1800-1868, who illustrated several of the Dickens novels, here gives "Strafford blessed by Archbishop Laud on his way to execution" (British Museum) These Victorian visions of the 17th century are always so dashing & so weirdly comforting.

In 1824, due to dire family financial straits, Charles Dickens (aged 12) began manual labour in a blacking factory in London. His father, John Dickens, was committed to The Marshalsea Prison as a debtor. This experience would influence much of the literature of Charles Dickens.
