Steve Ditko used special calling cards for his characters the Question and Mr. A

Holy cow, what an image! I think I’ve only seen it in digest form before and didn’t fully appreciate it. Look at that goddamn thing! Ditko from Strange Tales 128!

J. Jonah Jameson’s appearance in Spider-Man: With Great Power (2008) is as entertaining as his antics we read about in the early issues of the Lee/Ditko run!

Amazing Spider-Man panel recreation in Learning to Crawl. I'm a sucker for any Ditko homage.

but seriously, my first few years of buying comics - before I even really knew how to read - I had a preposterous batting average for a pre-literate toddler, and somehow picked up not just Ditko but Alan Moore, early Alan Davis, Giffen, von Eeden, Romita Sr in Marvel Tales ...

Amazing Fantasy 14: "mutant" was used before in comics, but I find it fascinating how imo this story by Lee and Ditko led to the basic template of how mutants live in the Marvel universe. Fear, prejudices and a group of mutants working in secret to help humans.

Leave it to a 1965 Steve Ditko Spider-Man comic to ably summarize news media for any decade.

It’s no surprise that does an incredible job at portraying Peter Parker in a realistic style, but I think he’s the closest to capture the person that Ditko had dreamed of and Romita Sr. had evolved.

Tbf, Ditko also made him look way more handsome later in his run. He wasn't precisely Romita-good looking, but when compared to the early issues, this dude looked like a movie star.

The Amazing Spider-Man (1963), had the first appearance of the Vulture. His return was advertised in the final panel of issue

Really appreciate how ditko made spidey's enemies have the worst haircuts in history. That's how you know they're evil
