-some more fx, color dodge is a must but there are some pieces where it's not helping the mood so i won't use in that case but i usually do

Done correctly, sound effects in "quiet" moments can really emphasize the quietness - like the sound of a pin dropping, especially if the moments are also small. Most quiet moments I've found are best served by pulling out the SFX, though.
