I think Alan Lee’s illustrations for The Lord of the Rings are amongst the greatest ever made. His imagery is now fused with Tolkien’s words in the consciousness of generations of obsessed readers. Surely that is the greatest achievement you can attain in book illustration

I remember so many people on Weibo hated these drawings saying "Oh it's not appropriate for children" or "the art isn't good anymore" to the point where Tanjiu told them to shut it.

Alrighty! Well when I first began my canon novel path I went with the 2017 Thrawn trilogy by Timothy Zahn. However being a trilogy that can overwhelm some new star wars readers. So I recommend Master and Apprentice by Claudia Grey. A fantastic stand alone novel.
