Details are based on in-game references and sprites. Some characters described him as handsome.Hat is reversed. His clothes and pants are ripped and tattered because he had a hard life. He puts more focus on his pokemon than himself (because that's how i play him)

@JeviplushWants That's because he never actually had overalls! One "strap" is just the outline of his body, and the other is the outline of his thumb (his other hand is slightly poking out from under is cape). Here, I tried to illustrate what I think is really going on in his sprites.

I just cant stop going back to these sprites. I liked the 2nd ones I made, but they were a bit too 'chibi'. wanted something resembling mvc stuff, and went back to the first sprite I made. I def like the improvements made here, so I'll probably stick with this design!
