Been spending time warming up on my logo here's another work in progress adding texture and subsurface scattering messing around
Trying out some new techniques with lighting/shading, with a focus on skin and subsurface shading.
@_Nightglow I don't know if this'll help, but I always skew towards bright pink for subsurface scattering for purple / blue skinned creatures. It's analogous to the bright warmth of red/orange against tan thru brown skin, since it's a step brighter + more warm
April 7 Gerrit Dou born Leiden 1613,Rembrandt's Pupil-Our research rediscovered 2 lost Masterpieces-His earliest 1630"Self-portrait at 17"in Rembrandt's Studio based on Rembrandt's1630"Self-portrait at 24"-Also has a Study of a later"Rembrandt 1630 Self-portrait"on its Subsurface
Fascinating revelations from further Technical Infra-red Reflectograph Subsurface research of putative important Italian Renaissance"Study of the Dolomites" SECTION -2. "Pentimenti"Old Bearded Man with familiar physiognomy" 3."Pentimenti"An expressive Grotesque Head in Profile"🧑🎨
@rosemarieadcock That is still the original "Subsurface" Studio Pupil's work probably Marco D'Oggiono using himself as the Model for Christ, as his other "Salvator Mundi" matches it-But he was poor at "Hands"etc so Leonardo assisted to finish it-His original part has since been much overpainted
If you turn off "subsurface scattering" in the graphics settings, your Zinogre gets this cool glowy effect. Only other monsters whose visuals change, are the Brute Tigrex veins and Savage Deviljhos body. They become very vivid.
Alright, everybody, I think it's time for us all to admire a bit of Ivan Aivazovsky (1817-1900), and his oil paintings of stormy seas. I mean... the subsurface scattering...
This man is really intense.
Don't need no high poly subsurface scatter photo scan SSAA nonsense, just a sweet pixel moustache 🤠
Making good progress with this new project.

Practicing more with realistic skin, subsurface scattering and rendering techniques. I really enjoy this learning process atm.
Had a lot of fun with this one. I took the time to dive deeper into rendering with all its fancy techniques. I experimented a lot with different light setups, subsurface scattering and textures. I am happy with the result. 😊
