Whilst not my best piece, these are some fanart I did, and as you can see I use different colors to shade yellow depending on if the overall atmosphere is warmer (Left) or cooler (Right)

See how much better that looks?!

And I don't crank up the yellow to full saturation either!

im kinda iffy when using procreate’s speedpaint feature bc it skips process when you’re using an adjustment tool (hue/saturation, liquify, etc.) and since i use gradient map to color my work frm greyscale, in the speedpaint it looks like it’s miraculously colored 😭

Contrast isn't the only way to separate elements in your image, it's just probably the most basic. There are other elements, like color saturation, to make certain things pop out and certain things recede. Like said in a recent comment, it's about color relationships
