I don't remember having bugged copies of anything on the C64. (But we were mostly copying hired originals, rather than getting hold of cracked versions.) 🤔 But I did have a cracked Cannon Fodder on Amiga that wouldn't save. So I just bought the game, coz it was awesome. 😁

This is a pretty hard game to play on the Micros, still it had the hook and pretty much everything the arcade had, not a bad conversion.

I still enjoy this. 👍 Sure, it take no advantage of the C64 hardware — looks like a quick and dirty Spectrum port. But it is a port of a really charming game. So it's still a blast to sneak around, seek those safe-codes, and try to avoid teacher-trouble. 😁

Fight Night is probably one of the better boxing games on the C64. 🤔 The tape version works well enough, but you get more tournament options with the disk verison.

Reflecting back, the graphical limitations for player sprites on the Commodore 64 were super restrictive. Still, it's fun challenge to boil down what makes a character recognizable in such low color/res

Commando

Commando could’ve been one of the C64’s greats, but it falls just short. It’s a very good game – nice graphics, amazing tunes & great gameplay - but a few bugs & having only 3 levels let it down. Still, a fun little shoot 'em down.

I owned this (and Stealth Fighter) on the C64, and I was well addicted to them. Airborne Ranger is so much fun. I only wish it had more missions. (A later missions expansion would have been awesome.) 👍 I'm not sure if the Amiga version was worse, but it didn't grab me the same.
