for me it’s knowing which areas to define and which to leave messy! before i used to render everything the same (wc made the artworks flat), but now i know how to guide the viewer’s eyes by selecting focal points properly 😁

Definitely not as well, I guess it makes use of shaded tones to define the 3D form normally but without that it just relies on lineart which creates some odd spots.

Same principles apply to different coloring techniques, for this one I had a semi cell-shading style, notice how depth detection works a LOT better with well defined blocks of color. I'd spend more time on the parts where the light doesn't have a big effecting area.

I caught up on Helluva Boss and liked the cherubs designs,specifically the sheep and the deer. So I decided to incorporate some features like the hooves, snoot, and the wings. I think it tuned out cute. Well, only a little on the snoot. I think the ref helped me define it better.
