Basically, what I want is to be able to say... really quickly map out what spaces in my lineart that I want to have a flat for, on it's own layer. Example:

I want to be able to sketch where Samus is, and get a flat layer for her, really quickly. Currently it's time consuming.

So I have this new idea for a boss battle if I ever make a game. Basically there’s a dessert theme level the boss is this mouse or rat named Cara K. She digs in the carrot cake and throws carrots at ya. When she gets mad she starts lobbing bombs and digs faster!
