So I found this couple month old doodle and decided to finish it today (color in the eyes/bg and shade)

Despite all the horribleness happening, still been drawing/painting/training. Watched vid tutorials on different impressionist painting techniques. Did some digital studies w/an apple. More tonight w/a quince! #painting #digitalpainting

This digital piece mimics my traditional techniques.
I learned:
Color on a multiply layer (img 1) is subject to the background, like markers, only digital.
Limited opacity on a normal layer (applied in img 2) lets select details pop.

Did a lot of experimentation and practice with this piece. Trying out some new techniques. But really enjoyed doing the long flowing hair and the water element was nice too.

@victoriaying I always wanted to go to art school to learn more techniques. Also I really have a weak spot with composition and backgrounds and a scholarship would help me oodles.
I tried a #ghibliredraw with an art style inspired by the beautiful @cottonkaddy I think it came out quite nice. It’s different than I normally do but it was definitely fun to try some new techniques.
@mymindandmeg Also don't be afraid to practice by tracing or just overlaying images, it's not cheating.
Even using pictures of your own work or outlines is super handy.
It really helps you to get used to digital drawing and blending techniques.
