hatching away slowly over this piece and the more i work on it the more delirious I get

One of my favorite art styles is the light-handed contour hatching over marker/watercolor you'd see back when game artists worked in physical media. I often tried different ways of adding hatching into my pixels as a kind of ramped-up (but less animation friendly) dithering.

Hello. Thank you for the share 🌸

I'm Viondril and when I draw to just relax I like doing hatchings 😁

I love cross-hatching but I'm never quite sure how to color it!!

I tried to kinda emulate a Final Fantasy Tactics vibe with the line hatching but, I have to study it more. I always dont like the outcome whenever I draw Cloud, my boy. Haha

This is kind of my take on his design lol

Anyone tried this aerial hoops? They look so much fun! Looking at this crosshatching now, the right shoulder blade seems too prominent, no? Mmmm, I´ll have to check on it. I have come to love crosshatching. All these are for hw for

style experiments uhh i just wanted to mess around and i like this clara a lot....i used to color everything with crosshatching when i was in high school so the pencil coloring was really fun

I did like slightly more realistic eyes. I might add in some hatching just cause i think it can look cool but i have no layers left so... we’ll see

It looks like they edited the artwork tbh. With how much hatching is there there's no way a scanner would miss so much to the point of making it a literal black void. Seems like someone went in and literally filled in the lines themselves but idk 🤔

More Power.
Trying out some hatching techniques. Pretty happy with how this one turned out.

This was a study on crosshatching and light for the face and I made an actual character lol

❄️🌱❄️Even though they're a welcome sign of springtime, Snowdrops were thought to be an ill-omened flower when brought into a house, and might presage a death. 🥚Less frightening was the belief that bringing them inside would prevent poultry eggs from hatching.

art style study!
I'm used to drawing straight and thick lines so this is a nice practice. My lines feel more free and loose doing this study. Cross-hatchings are on the darkest parts of the drawing and texture to the fur.
