I am a aspect of humanity that took the form of a wolf.
My 5 tails each represent a lesson/belief/emotion that can be seen as core values.
I traveled across the world watching humanity from a distance.
At first, my idea was to paint this series in gouache but I was so hesitant and opposed me so much resistance that I began to postpone them indefinitely. So with the "excuse" of doing a rough color test, I started to compose my values and colors.

Base color is the halfway point for me in these pieces. The stuff that makes a piece pop comes after.

my old screen tablet (xp pen 13.3 pro) could never calibrate the display correctly, which made coloring anything a nightmare. it completely fucked w the values AND colors 💀
also the pen has no springs which make the nibs wear down FAST and scratches up ur screen

Value plan, flat colours, render. I experimented with colouring style for this one and had no idea how to start lol hence the messy values first
@eden_barton Yeah and I don’t think people care enough to check their overall values. I did this in all green but at least you can tell his skin is darker than his hair. A lot of people,,,,,,, don’t do that

Experimented with HDR painting. Quick sculpt in Blender, render to 32-bit EXR, paint in Krita adjusting exposure with the LUT docker. I like it, gives a lot of control over extreme values. Had export to Blender to bake it to 8 bits through compositing.
