Astrid the Bunny. Still not quite sure why I put big weird lumps on her head, but maybe it's fluff.
Here are the main shapes I try to make when doing hair.
1 - Base: main shape of the hair, it's the fullest layer.
2 - Clumps: this one is smaller and sits on top of the first one. It also serves to reinforce the flow of the hair
3- Details: the flyaway hairs to break silhouette
@SUMMONFISH His "houseboat" sort of approach to ship design always helps me with creative slumps. Basically, anything jet-sized might as well be a skiff, and the bigger stuff is slower and lived-in. If something starts being captivating during blockout it can always be refined more later on.
And just so you can see a failure state, this is "sunflowers growing above a brain, fine faded detail linework watercolor on paper"
I call this "generator fatigue", when you've added too much specificity, and the design just...slumps over with exhaustion
Scan 2: Sitting Buddha
Good, but not great. Notice the lumps on his skin & deformity on the face. The lumps are from his skin being a shiny gold. Might have to spray paint the whole thing a matte gray for a better scan. This was planned to be used for my Dead Pool arena redesign.
@LightningBoySt1 A lot of the work was also done by the particle system, I didn’t abstract the clumps into single planes, instead I just played around with the settings. By adding multiple particle systems with different parameters, you can simulate different strokes like the following 4/4

watching a movie tonight, shes not well at all, bit of a temprature and a sore throat (white lumps at the back of her throat) covid test was negative, but shes feeling rubbish, could do with a doctors visit, but cant afford it.
