Happy 1st of April! Our book of the month is this super-smart & utterly charming oddity of a novel-as-bestiary, Yan Ge's Strange Beasts of China

Some coloured doodles of my OC (fursona?) Maisie the rat from my 3DS. She’s a bartender (like me!) who loves a good beer or real ale with her mates at the pub. She’s a bit dim, but tries her hardest and loves making her friends laugh. More refined ref sheet to come soon :3

The Hike by Alison Farrell, pub. by @Chronicle is a “why didn’t I think to write this” PB about what 3 young friends experience on a hike. The strength of this gem is in the richness of detail the author/illustrator conveys in a character’s sketchbook & labels. ❤️it. #kidlit

There's a lot of bad parts of this whole situation but as I sit through twitter reporting people harassing just about...everybody in pub. But one thing I really wish is that people would actually learn how publishing works before trying to dunk on it.

Just seen @mistressofline's rather wonderful update of an 1803 anti-Napoleon cartoon pub. by Piercy Roberts (who specialized in patriotic satirical prints). https://t.co/2b9fNgc8gv
Whenever Christmas came around I either had some school/uni work to do over the holidays and I would be working most nights at the local pub. But this year is the first time where I have NO work and I'm off through all of Christmas... Don't think I've ever felt this relaxed.. :)
