Photographs from the "Rewriting History" series by Haitian-born American artist Fabiola Jean-Louis, 2010s, with models wearing sculptural dresses made of paper in what the artist terms an "exploration into the relationship between history, memory, and identity"

This painting is very closely linked to another of Fergusson's works, 'Gloxinias and Fuchsias' also painted in 1938. It shares the same enlarged scale and sculptural treatment of form, plus an emphasis on colour and curving line and pattern.

2/3 - For most of the two minute poses I was working digitally with one hand like an absolute square before Levelling Up to use both with conte pencils. Here are some 5 minute drawings. There's something a bit sculptural about the act of drawing with both hands.
Textile & print speak to one another. This photo @NML_Muse of embroidered curtain from Frances's design for fellow designer Fritz Waerndorfer shows how the threaded lines of embroidery echo lines printed on paper, both sculpturally rise from the surface. #MuseumBuddy
I've been so preoccupied with working on sculptural projects that I'd forgotten to update my blog with mentions of my last 50 small #paintings. So here's a start

The tremendous presence of the rear commands attention. Distinctive in its shape due to audacious, sculptural detailing and a lack of chrome. A key design elementis the wide and low rear glass, set not flush, but pushed deeply into the bodywork.

In later years, when he focused more on murals, his characters became sculptural and graphic, in the tradition and style of Frank Brangwyn, with whom he studied with.
I'd never seen the guy in the trenchcoat. But it'd be cool to see a noir like that.

Our #ArtistOfTheMonth for #July2020 is Vincent James. "Part of the the fun of the sculptural work, I hope, is seeing cartoon props transported from the two dimensional animated world to a gallery space and transformed into three dimensions." See here: https://t.co/Gd0tWFeZwm

@mothfrnd Hi! I'm Morgen, a disabled non-binary artist who enjoys drawing primarily anthros and monsters. My art production has been slow due to health issues, but I'm hoping to get back into a groove and also do more costume/sculptural/general physical artwork. Thank you for the thread!
