Beyond the accolades, the game really is fascinating to play now, especially if you're familiar with many JRPGs. It's a prequel for one, but doesnt tell you that. It hints at it until the end. It's also incredibly open, mainly down to how it treats party members and classes.

Allow me to present a piece of modern art. There is no higher accolade than to have one's portrait curated in a bona fide and fastidious manner, all while maintaining one's equanimity. Though some have claimed this piece to be perfunctory, it is impeccable.

I really like the Accolade graphic style. They seemed to much prefer high-res over multi-colour when they could do it. Sometimes they'd mix-in some multi-colour characters if they were needed. But their preference for high-res gave their games a particular look, which I liked. 👍

I never found that a Sci-Fi game on the C64 that gave me that Star Trek "captains bridge" feeling like Psi-5 Trading Company did. Beautiful Accolade presentation. Choose your crew, launch into space, and scramble to evade and destroy enemy ships, while prioritising power/repairs.

Aces of Aces has that polish to it that we'd come to expect from Accolade. The graphics, sound, and game-play were all top notch on the C64. I played it many times. I'd become quite good at all missions, so was just trying for a 'perfect' game. ie: maximum hits on all targets. 😎
