2023 i'm learning more about typefaces and graphic design in general, i feel like really interesting fonts and design can elevate the aesthetic of a given show/comic/illustration and give it a certain nuance i don't know how to articulate yet

It's probably due to having less saturation than other modern CN shows (probably why steven turns yellow-ish in the crossover). UG also uses more cornsilk white than the regular digital white, less straining on the eyes and gives off a comic/vintage aesthetic.

Followed tutorial for skin coloring. Really helpful tricks! Still need to get better, but I'm getting there ^.^
