Q3. Came across The Lost Homework recently... also there is something striking in The Secret Garden about class divisions. There was a book I studied before too but I think it is banned now-Summer of my German Soldier?

Q1. Remember this series making an impact. First proper meeting with death in a book - up until then reading was safe, characters safe. The final image is seared into my memory. Jupiter was such a menacing villain. Think is a fan (?)

Q1: Start a class UKS2 graphic novel collection with these and you'll have the kids hooked on reading them pretty quickly.

Q2- These are all beautiful. Colin and Lee, Carrot and Pea is an amazing book for exploring friendship with Nursery/Reception children. Simple but perfect.

Jenny Colgan is one of my absolute favourite authors of adult fiction and I was beyond excited when I discovered that she has written for children, too! Her Polly and the Puffin books have been gone down a treat with LKS2 in particular!

I think the characters in this series are hugely relatable to children. The books are a lot of fun but have family relationships firmly at their heart.

I've seen several references to the Pippi Longstocking and just need to make sure that the world knows about Mini Grey's illustrated editions, please and thank you!

Some older classics and some more recent, but I love these books. Each wonderful for different reasons. I remember my year 6 teacher reading Goodnight Mister Tom and Adolphus Tips to us when I was in primary school and both were just magical experiences for me

I love her ‘Race to the Frozen North’. An absolutely stunning and necessary read.

Although well-known now due to the film, Wonder by R.J. Palacio is a great class read. Each chapter is so well crafted, giving different perspectives and prompting so many discussions. Always a winner, and now with several follow semi-sequels.
