✨ This was a lovely way to spend an evening.
🌸 Morphology filters on flowers.

Fishes aren’t only diverse with regards to number of species, they are also highly diverse in their morphology. Some stomiids have a functional head joint! They have evolved a “rubber neck” for the purpose of expanding their jaws wide enough to eat big things! #SlugsVsFishes
It's #sciartportfolioweek? Well hello, I'm Amy a PhD candidate in functional morphology and I make science-related art (among other things!). Also, #under10kgang and #NobodyArtistClub 🦎🐟✌️
Guided by Henry's illustrations, the morphology, along with phylogenetic analysis shows that sauropods evolved giant articular cartilage caps good at resisting compression; while theropods expanded the femoral 'head' to deal with compression and shear.
#FollowFriday - Welcome several new followers of ICB with us by going to check out what they're up to and following them:

For #FossilFriday congratulation to our Master student @BoulinJordan who finished today (co-supervised with @LauraDziomber). A very nice work on the #3D morphology of the #ruminants and what we can say about it (phylogeny, ontogeny, allometry).

Buzz: LIKELY PREDATOR, BUT WITH MANY OF ITS OWN PREDATORS. While the eyes are situated on the sides of the head, the dragonfly-like morphology of the eyes would imply they have many lenses, giving it an incredibly wide range of vision.
Day 7:
WIP of a Troll WoW Morphology ;
I think I found how I'm gonna name the paint when it's done! Currently doing the colors now and see how it goes 😬🥰! Maybe a new post today so stay tuned

Day 6:
WIP today of a Troll WoW Morphology ; currently going slowly through it! Gonna update tomorrow 🥰👏

I spent a lot of time today randomizing the morphology prediction on fr and just tweaking the genes (before + after)
"What..?"
Little sketch to figure out my morphology and anatomy I'm pretty happy with!~
The “Blind swamp eel”, Ophisternon infernale, can be found in cave systems of the Yucatán Peninsula, #Mexico. With a worm like body, these #fish have no visible eyes or scales and feed on invertebrates. #teamfish #oVertTCN #morphology #ichthyology @UMichEEB
Here you have the reconstruction done by @BranArtworks. Because of the derived rostral morphology we hypothesize that this animal was a benthic feeder, a truly odd adaptation when compared with coeval physeteroids
Happy Friday! Today's #segmentation is Aethia pygmaea, the "whiskered auklet". A relative of the #Puffin, they
are only found around the #AleutianIslands and off the coast of #Siberia. #ornithology #zoology @UMichEEB #birds #Arctic #3dmorphology #CTdata

Today's #segmentation: another Micrurus, this species of #snake is commonly called the "Central American coral snake". #Morphology people out there: how would you describe the gland texture without using the word "glandular"?

Habelia are small predators that lived around the Cambrian period. Despite their chelicerate affinity, their functional morphology are more similar to those of mandibulates. Their anterior limb pairs, instead of walking, are more specialized for sensing and feeding.
