2009: Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story
50% playable Bowser, a screwball Fawful-fueled plot, and a near-constant barrage of pure strangeness from start to finish. Although there are Mario RPG games I've enjoyed after, they've never *quite* hit the same after this one.
(2016) Hey! Did you like Bravely Default, but really hated the thing they pulled with the second part of the game? Then play Bravely Second. More Interesting job roles (and none broken) more interesting plot, more interesting side mission and the neat thing they do with NG+ rules

My latest read, the excellent 'Dawn of Swords' by @thatdalglishguy and @robertduperre, a book that takes the time needed to devise the plot, create great characters, kill some of them in fantastic ways, and leave you with the desire to get more. Highly recommended.
