I finished Dr Stone! Solidly good shonen. I had a lot of fun with it. My favorite part was the village's backstory, I love that kind of scenario, really hit me in the feels. Village chief/sulfa arc was great too.

Kohaku and Suika are the best!

Kemono Jihen is a really good manga that’s out right now about a kid named Kabane who is a Kemono basically Japanese folklore like kitsunes and kappas he joins a detective agency that deals with Kemono related problems despite its pitch it’s a shonen.

The Shogun Assassination Arc in Gintama might be my favorite arc in Shonen. This arc made me feel so many emotions, if not all of them. This scene right here sets up the most long awaited battle between Gintoki & Takasugi 🔥

Yeah they don't do a lot of grasping their emotional realities. I think a part of this is the style, especially of older Shonen. If Stardust was done now I think they'd tackle things a lot more.

Hunter X Hunter probably has the greatest overall cast in any fictional medium that I've read/watched so far. There are so many characters with complex backstories & motivations, great thematic and narrative influence/impact, with some of the best character arcs in any shonen.

Late to the party but just wanna say y'all sleeping on the best magic shonen. One the best casts in anime/manga, amazing worldbuilding, atleast top 5 power system, a fucking incredible plot and really great art too.
