They should save Metal Sonic for a Sonic Heroes movie where he can be his own villain and eventually rebel against Robotnik. Maybe at first he's like following his orders but then he becomes self aware like Ultron. They could also do Metal Overlord with this story.

I think it would be a neat idea that in some future Transformers fiction - comic, cartoon, whatever - they introduce Megaplex as a heroic clone of Megatron. I don't know how it'd work story-wise. Maybe he was a back-up body that became good. Like the Vision to Megatron's Ultron
