The artifacting is from the file compression, not from it being a scan. If it had moire patterning, THEN it would be a scan. There is a difference.

Something I really believe in is compression in comics -- I really believe that's the way forward. In issue 2 of Maxwell's Demons we tried to do one page alien life stories -- and this one was my favorite, I think.
