as a general rule of thumb for coloring blood: keep things darker, even as far as like, near brownish. fully saturated reds with blood never work well, even on white fur.
if you're looking for a ref of bloody faputa, there's this one that made, if it helps

I did a small thumbnail study of The Origin's vol.1 cover. Yasuhiko has such nice colors, and the angular parts hitting the light, along with the blues/purples mixing with the reds/oranges at the legs are particularly eye catching.

nuris color choices in the games he works on are a big inspo for me bc he goes out of his ways to tint characters with reds/pinks to evoke warmth/friendliness vs blues/greens to evoke cold/deviousness. like even when theyre both smiling u can just. tell which one of them is nicer

wait i have an answer actually. in nuris notes he said he specifically chose warm colors and tinted his hair/eyes/etc with pinks/reds to give him a warm aura about him and it works. its the same reason we're all drawn to klavier. he's a heater and we're dumb moths drawn to him :/
