Forgot to share these sketches for Day 17 Mechanical and combined Days 19 & 20 - Cerulean and Botanical

I don't think I'll be drawing more rovers anytime soon 🤣

for is "Energy." 🌊

Another couple of pieces that would probably work just as well for the "circular" prompt, but I think these also express ideas about energy.

Both of these artworks are from 2015, the first in watercolor & the second in acrylic.

Day 19 - for On a trip to NOLA standing in the rain I saw this neon sign. Made it my sketchbook cover and then made it a gif. Also may have tried blinding myself by looking up neon turning on and off.

Day 18 - for A bit more abstracted . A Family group with support and a family member leaving with a guide.

Some more stuff for island fauna for
Aepyornis, Megaladapis, Deinogalerix and Thecodontosaurs. The last one is for me especially interesting because the animals not only lived on islands but were found in cave deposits.

for is "Circular." 🟡🟠🔴

I use circular shapes in my work a lot. My sketchbooks are full of Venn diagram-like doodles. I'm unsure what the attraction is to these shapes but I always return to them.

These are both acrylic & glitter on canvas, 2016.

Did you know that I also do medical illustration? This is an illustration of the tendons impacted by De Quervain's syndrome for the University of Michigan Department of Radiology.

"evolving"
Crows are aware of themselves & able to think consciously, but lack the part of the brain (cerebral cortex) that scientists posited as the location of this type of thinking. Implying consciousness might be older & more widespread than believed (duh?)

Spicomellus, SPICOMELLUS!!!!!
Osteoderms fused to ribs! We might be missing here a whole radiation of bizarre thyreophorans.
