Nasu originally didn't want to remake the original Mahoyo novel, but it was Takeuchi that eventually convinced him.

Takeuchi said he would die to do the art, but realized Type-Moon needed someone new. To bring Mahoyo to life, he decided it would be Koyama that would replace him.

I want to like Naoko Takeuchi's art, and for the most part I do, but she always does SOMETHING that drives me nuts, like how Usagi's entire upper body is twisted so incredibly out of alignment with her waist and legs. Either her torso needs to twist or her legs waist does.
