The Cherry Blossom.
Fourth illustration in a mini personal project where I've been associating flower types with the female body and its different shapes.

In my head paste ups were a great idea for a big wall but I ended up feeling more like a decorator than an artist by the end of the day.

More shenanigans at tomorrow when I fix the anticipated damage from overnight and spray paint some geometric shapes.

I've begun two spaniels. The bit I enjoy freehand painting the proportions & shapes. Two separate poses with different expressions.

I did photograph the progress, but, for some reason, one set of photos did not save! I'll tweet what I have.

Oil on board.

Character design practice, a sortah nature spirit that is just a living forest that drags itself with the forest floor being a sortah cloak. I really wanted to show my process exploring head shapes.

Planty portrait - baby desert rose. The "mama" plant got a seed pod last year, so I planted as many of the seeds as I had pots for. They all grow in such unique shapes. This one must have read a lot of Dr. Seuss.

A small WIP! Trying to step out of my comfort zone. I’ve always loved textured pieces. Whenever I would try, it’d be clean lines/shapes.

IT’S UNCOMFORTABLE FOR ME but that’s a good sign!

Thank you! I just started finding art that I liked (lots of stuff from games, cartoons, etc) and trying to recreate it. For example, here's a pokemon where you can see the original in the corner. I didn't trace it, but kinda stared at it and tried to understand the shapes.

Ok everyone is talking about a certain character's teeth; I guess I'll give some advice to aspiring 3d folks. My strategy is to be simple & clean, like the Kingdom Hearts song. Sometime a solid block is better for teeth. Frame the teeth/tongue with simple, graphic mouth shapes.
