Look, I know I draw Queen Mabb alot, but I can't help it. The Mother of the Little People demands to be painted. No doubt she is plotting her next playful scheme. I may have also been inspired by YouTube speed painters & their textures & shading skills.

Although earlier realism was in vogue on both sides of the Atlantic, Winslow Homer's 'On a Lee Shore,' (1900) is painted with an earthy sense of honesty when depicting a time and place, a style exemplified by such painters as Courbet, Jean-Francois Millet and Honoré Daumier.

We are lucky enough to own animation cels; they are composed of the hand-painted celluloid, the color guide for the painters, and the background. It’s amazing to think that there were 24 of these sheets made for each second of animation!

Check out this Jewel of the Sea cel.

in 1727, Thomas Gainsborough was born. He went on to become perhaps one of the most famous landscape painters in history. An artist we are proud to have in our collection.

I think painting Vulcan/Hephaistos was so popular amongst baroque painters because it gave them a rare opportunity to portray an art/craft as masculine and heroic. Here's Rubens' pupil Cornelis Schut's (b. 13 May 1587) version, complete with humorous barrow boy.
