I’ll include a before and after...
first pass was just blocking in the shapes (not shown here), and then the second pass (first picture) was putting down the colors I wanted.
Finally, the third and last pass was laying down the paint thicker, and creating stronger shapes.

Line weight is choosing which lines are thicker/darker or thinner/lighter! It helps accentuate particular areas of the picture and keeps it from looking flat. example: alot of ppl like to use thicker lines for the silhouette of a body so the shape isn't lost in the other details!
