Halcyone (1915) by Herbert James Draper (1863-1920). IN BRIEF: (1) Zeus destroyed her husband's ship with a thunderbolt (2) The horrified Halcyone drowned herself (3) Out of compassion the gods changed both of them into kingfishers, or "halcyon birds".

The dark and tattered draperies...rustled uneasily about the decorations of the bed...An irrepressible tremor gradually pervaded my frame; and, at length, there sat upon my very heart an incubus of utterly causeless alarm.

"The Harp of Erin, represents a white-clad woman chained to a rock in the sea, whose waves dash up around her. Reddish golden hair floats over her shoulders, which are draped in a green scarf. Blue eyes of the colour of the deepest heaven gaze, her arms are raised to play"

It's a bit hard to see his pose with such a huge jacket draped over him, just for the heck of it, here's without the jacket, and with the jacket fully on, to show where the false eyes are on the hood.

Hi, peeps! I'm trying to find a poster of a young bobcat sitting in the woods w/ its front paws draped over a log. I had gotten it when I was 11, and it was tossed out against my true wishes during one of our many moves. 😭

If this looks familiar, please let me know!

It's been awhile, costumed life drawing! Thanks for reminding me that I suck at draperies. Still really fun though! Thanks and Wei Wu for putting it together!
